The organization catalogs these actions as blatant and irrefutable evidence of US policy of aggression.

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) condemned on Tuesday the interventionist plans being carried out by the United States Government (USA) against Venezuela.

The statement also addresses the statement made on September 8, 2018 by the American newspaper The New York Times, of talks between former US President Donald Trump and Venezuelan military, planning interventionist plans in the South American nation.

Calling for the possible intervention, the executive secretary of ALBA-TCP announced the strong condemnation by the regional bloc of the possible US conspiracies against Venezuela.

In the pages of the newspaper, it was clear the intentions of the White House under the orders of Trump, in conjunction with the Venezuelan military.

“These facts publicly presented, constitute clear evidence of the plans of intervention and use of force against the people and Government of Venezuela by the Government of the United States,” the organization’s statement emphasizes.

The official text adds that “all this is a clear threat to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Venezuela and involves a violation of basic principles of international law: it is a resurgence of policies harmful to the region as was the Monroe Doctrine”.

In this regard, ALBA classifies these actions as “flagrant and irrefutable evidence of the policy of aggression that the current United States Government has been directing and organizing against the Bolivarian Revolution and against the progressive countries of Our America. ALBA-TCP has expressed and reiterated its condemnation of these actions in violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter”.

Finally, the entity asked the International Community, and specifically the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, “to be alert against the conspiratorial plans and the policy of aggression of the Donald Trump administration against the people and Government of Venezuela”.

On the subject of human rights, ALBA had denounced the United States Government’s intention to create the conditions for destabilizing Venezuela’s democracy and encouraging military intervention in that country.

The organization also indicates that Venezuela continues to be the target of an unprecedented campaign of aggression, which seeks to impose a change of national leadership and dismantle the social and political work of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, continued by the government of the current president Nicolás Maduro Moros.
