Committed to their mission to represent the interests of the population, Cuban deputies will dedicate part of the second day of work commissions to reviewing the impact of measures adopted to raise the value of the Cuban peso, and increases in beneficial tax and credit options to support agricultural production.
Various measures related to priority areas have been implemented since April 22, when the decision was taken to reduce prices by up to 20% on a number of specific products – mainly food stuffs.
Stockpiling, sales logistics and the positive and negative aspects of these decisions will be discussed today by deputies of the Economic, Agriculture and Food and Services Commissions, which will take place collectively.
Other issues to be addressed include investments in the water supply system, energy and mining sectors, as well as responses to proposals by the population regarding these areas.
The epidemiological situation in the country, funeral services, as well as the repair, expansion and development of homes for the elderly will also be discussed.
Various commissions will review the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines approved during the 7th Party Congress; as well as the event’s central report and speeches by Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro and Army General Raúl Castro.
