fidel y Marti 2Writing is a way to be useful if you believe that our long-suffering humanity must be better, and more fully educated, given the incredible ignorance in which we are all enveloped, with the exception of researchers who in the sciences seek satisfactory answers. This is a word which implies in a few letters its immense content.

Einstein

All of us in our youth heard talk at some point about Einstein, in particular after the explosion of the atomic bombs which pulverized Hiroshima and Nagasaki, putting an end to the cruel war between the United States and Japan.

When those bombs were dropped, after the war unleashed by the attack on the U.S. base at Pearl Harbor, the Japanese Empire had already been defeated. The United States, whose territory and industries remained removed from the war, became the country with the greatest wealth and the best weaponry on Earth, in a world torn apart, full of death, the wounded and hungry.

The Soviet Union and China

The Soviet Union and China together lost more than 50 million lives, along with enormous material damage. Almost all of the gold in the world landed in the vaults of the United States. Today it is estimated that the entirety of this country’s gold reserves reached 8,133.5 tons of this metal. Despite that, tearing up the Bretton Woods accords they signed, the United States unilaterally declared that it would not fulfill its duty to back the Troy ounce with the value in gold of its paper money.

The measure ordered by Nixon violated the commitments made by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. According to a large number of experts on the subject, the foundation of a crisis was created, which among other disasters threatens to powerfully batter the economy of this model of a country. Meanwhile, Cuba is owed compensation equivalent to damages, which have reached many millions of dollars, as our country has denounced throughout our interventions in the United Nations, with irrefutable arguments and facts.

Struggling for peace

As has been expressed with clarity by Cuba’s Party and government, to advance good will and peace among all the countries of this hemisphere and the many peoples who are part of the human family, and thus contribute to the survival of our species in the modest place the universe has conceded us, we will never stop struggling for peace and the well-being of all human beings, for every inhabitant on the planet regardless of skin color or national origin, and for the full right of all to hold a religious belief or not.

The equal right of all citizens to health, education, work, food, security, culture, science, and well-being, that is, the same rights we proclaimed when we began our struggle, in addition to those which emerge from our dreams of justice and equality for all inhabitants of our world, is what I wish for all. To those who share all or part of these same ideas, or superior ones along the same lines, I thank you, dear compatriots.

  1. When all is said and done by those who are visible like presidents, prime ministers, sports stars, actors and well known criminals some of whom have held high offices as well as others who are less visible such as ordinary folks, workers, peasants, students and the poor, the fundamental problems of humanity such as climate change, hunger, peace, poverty and underdevelopment are unquestionably related in large measure to the activities of capitalism and imperialism.

The challenges whether climate change, peace or poverty confronting the very survival of humanity due to warriors in Washington, Paris, London and other western capitals and their lackeys in capitals globally are all rooted in the logic of profit maximization and cost minimization which are at the heart of capitalism and imperialism.

Thus to solve the major problems that literally put humanity’s existence at risk the struggle of the vast majority of the peoples of the world must necessarily be anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist. In other words humanity must recognize sooner rather than later through political organization and education within communities globally that at the heart of our climate crisis, our poverty, hunger, inadequate schools, hospitals, housing and inadequate jobs are the capitalist and imperialist systems.

Finally, in this regard the peoples of the world whether in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and North America must through struggles develop their political class consciousness to elect political al leaders who are not SELL-OUTS to corporate interests but who are authentic leaders of their socio-economic and socio-political interests. The latter means that these leaders must be like Fidel Castro of Cuba ,Patrice Lumumba of the Congo Kwane Nkrumah of Ghana, Kwame Ture of Teinidad and Tobago and the US, Walter Rodney of Guyana, Samora Machel of Mozambique, Che Guvarra of Argentina, Malcolm X of the USA, Salvadore Allende of Chile and Maurice Bishop of Grenada all of who demonstrated selflessness and a committment to fight for their peoples against imperialism. Furthermore, the leaders of the poor and working peoples globally must never be people who are able to be bought by imperialism and the oligarchs.

So in closing all those leaders mentioned above and many more who could have been mentioned are examples of leaders who will not be bought by Wall Street and other corporate interests. They are the kinds though not exclusively that are needed to solve not only the challenges globally like climate change but those that exist in their respective countries.

Peace if you are willing to fight for it!
