Friends of Venezuela (Barbados) in solidarity with Venezuela
Meanwhile, the Friends of Venezuela Solidarity Committee (Barbados), the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration and the Pan-African Coalition of Organisations also announced their solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela this week.
In a statement, the groups said, “we express our strong feelings against the right-wing extreme sectors of Venezuela which have once again tried to carry out a coup attempt to destabilize the legitimate and democratically elected Government of President Nicolás Maduro and cause chaos together with material destruction to certain public entities.”
The group is calling on the Government of Barbados and other Caribbean Governments to condemn this reactionary force in Venezuela and the government of the United States for undermining the Venezuelan People and Government.
Other governments and organizations in the region have also condemned the attempted coup, including Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, St. Lucia, the Latin American parliament and Brazil’s Landless Movement.
