In solidarity with the Government and People of Venezuela.
The Friends of Venezuela Solidarity Committee (Barbados), the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration and the Pan-African Coalition of Organisations stands in solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
We express our strong feelings against the right-wing extreme sectors of Venezuela which have once again tried to carry out a coup attempt to destabilize the legitimate and democratically elected Government of President Nicolás Maduro and cause chaos together with material destruction to certain public entities.
A call on the Governments of the Caribbean to condemn the coup
We use this opportunity to make a call on the Government of Barbados and other Caribbean Governments in our region to condemn this reactionary force in Venezuela and the Government of the United States of America that has undermined the Venezuelan People and Government.
Our Movement also calls on the Government of Venezuela to serve justice for the families of the deceased victims of the destructive actions which took place on the 12th of February 2014, and which have been tried to be replicated in 2015, no matter their political position.
Our Movement can see that the Government of the United States of America and its fascist friends are trying very hard to create the conditions for a Libya-style intervention in Latin America, therefore we also condemn these sectors of the US Government for interfering with the internal affairs in Venezuela.
The Bolivarian Revolution defends the poor and powerless people of the Americas
The peace-loving people of Barbados and the Caribbean will protect the Bolivarian Revolution that defends the poor and powerless people of the Americas. This Revolution has created the conditions for many Caribbean Countries to deal with our problems of energy, health, education, housing and many other social problems that have affected the poor and powerless in our region. We will also continue to support the Government of Venezuela in the fight against the economic war as well as the media war that constantly try to create problems for the Venezuelans.
