The Cuban program combines the economy with the social and environmental components, pillars of sustainability, underlined Tomasi. In statements to the press, Tomasi also referred to the joint work of the UNDP and the island’s authorities in the area of the environment for over 20 years now.

The two experts attended the 9th International Convention on the Environment and Sustainable Development that wound u p on Friday at Havana’s Convention Center, which brought together 1,189 delegated from 42 countries.
