Rebeca Grynspan UN under secretary generalUN Under-Secretary General Rebeca Grynspan highlighted on Monday in Ecuador that, without Cuban physicians, it would have been impossible to respond to the cholera epidemics in Haiti.
  
She pointed out that the medical aid from neighboring nation was already present in Haiti before the January 2010 earthquake.
  
Latin American cooperation – a new element
A new element in that devastated nation is Latin American cooperation, non-existent in the past, a phenomenon that changed the dynamics of the United Nations, including its Stabilization Mission, she highlighted.
 
Venezuela, Ecuador and Brazil are also among nations participating in the reconstruction of Haiti, severely hit by Nature and more by poverty.
